Singer Michael Jackson died on June 25, 2009 in his rented mansion in Holmby Hills (in Bel Air, Los Angeles, California).

His personal physician, hired for the tour This Is It, Conrad Murray, said he found Jackson in bed, not breathing and weak pulse, and their attempts to revive him were unsuccessful.

At first he pointed to the possibility that his death had occurred an hour after an injection of meperidine (Demerol), an analgesic which the singer was addicted at 90 and that several witnesses testify was addicted again. others deny this, and the autopsy, which states that his organs were in good condition. Murray in turn said in an interview conducted two days later that Jackson had given the drug but acknowledged being injected with propofol, a strong anesthetic to be administered by a team of appropriate monitoring and resuscitation, which Murray did not have.
